Activities
Please do not plan any activities for the remainder of the day of your procedure so that you can rest and recover.
Transportation & Care
Please arrange for someone to drive you to and from the Surgery Center. You cannot drive for the rest of the day after your procedure because of the sedation medications you will receive.
To protect your privacy, the person accompanying you to your procedure should be someone with whom the surgeon can discuss your health and results of the procedure.
You will need to arrange for a responsible adult to assist you with the following:
- Drive you to and from the Surgery Center. (Do not plan to use a cab or bus - you must be with a responsible adult to ensure you arrive home safely.)
- Be present throughout your stay at the Surgery Center.
- Provide care for you for 24 hours or more after the procedure.
For these reasons, please have your driver come with you to the Surgery Center and stay until you are discharged.
Childcare
If you have young children, make child care arrangements for the day of your procedure. Two to three hours spent in the waiting room can be stressful to children, and space in Madison Surgery Center waiting room is limited. We kindly request that you do not bring children with you if at all possible.
Interpreter Services
Madison Surgery Center is willing and can provide you with a professional medical interpreter at no cost. It is important for your health care to receive the services of a qualified professional interpreter. If you will need an interpreter, please call Madison Surgery Center at 608-287-2153 or 800-921-3444 to make arrangements prior to your procedure.
